Why You Can Truly Have Whatever You Desire in The Modern World.
We’re probably the only humans to exist in such a time where technology has advanced to a great extent, globalization is higher than ever before and the world is more interdependent on itself than ever before.
Never in recorded history was the world connected in such a manner that it is today. From traveling for months on a ship to go from one continent to another to now taking merely a few hours. The world has come a long way.
If we look at a country, lets say long way back in time, we would notice that the country produced almost all of the resources it used but today, we’re more interdependent on each other (nations) than probably ever before. While this does ensure greater peace, harmony and a higher scope of peaceful coexistence among each other it has also made the economic market much more diverse and universal. Especially escalated through technology.
Since the markets are so globalized, naturally there is a need for any and everything you could want and since there is a demand, there is a supply.
Meaning, no matter what sort of value you’re passionate to provide, there is someone who would need it.
You like making art? Someone out there would pay for it, like to bake stuff? Again, can be sold from the comfort of your home. Want a crocodile shaped inflatable bath toy for your child? Easily available.
Naturally with this accessibility you also get competition, but that doesn’t hinder your chances of getting what you want, you just have to prove yourself to be worthy if it through patience, persistence and consistency.
Here’s the few reasons how and why you can actually get whatever you want :
- Technological Advances : With high end software and hardware engineers constantly working to make life more convenient and easy for you. Just reading this title, a dozen examples of it might’ve already popped in your head.
- Globalization and Customization: Due to a greater more interconnected market, there is a greater need for more tailor made products for their consumers. Especially when most products are made with a generalized standpoint.
- Knowledge and Expertise: It takes merely an internet connection and an appropriate device to access almost all of the information relevant to your need.
- Persistence and Desirability : Since what you want, very likely a lot more people want, creates competition and the market is the one which decides who wins the competition and the true winners of the prize you want are only the ones who want it more than you or able to get more creative with it than the masses.
While the article was mainly focused at the economic standpoint of desires, these points apply to almost any and every field you can think of, especially the last one. These are not just limited to positive or financial things, these points if not all then a few truly work for any and every goal/aspiration.
The main emphasis here is on dedication and desire, they dictate how bad you truly want something. Many people want many things but most people only truly want a few things while the rest would just be nice to have, this is where the filtration happens.
TLDR : Whatever you want, many other people want and it isn’t necessary that all of them will get exactly what they want. The one with the most dedication and intelligence gets it. The world is technologically highly advanced enough and globalized enough to gift the apple to the ones who truly want it.
This is inspiring in many ways. However, in spite of the fact that it’s important to have dedication to get what you want, some things are just meant to be while others are not. There’s no harm in trying but the signs shouldn’t be overlooked as well.
